Yoga has changed my life and I feel blessed to have found it. I was a person who drank too much, ate too much, partied too much, was negative, and was often sad and frustrated with life. Since starting yoga I cannot believe how happy I am.
Although I realised what happiness was a long time ago I was unable to find it in myself, looking in every other direction to find it such as in the food cupboard, I was escaping from my existence in alcohol or food. With the added difficulty of suffering with ill health all theses hedonistic activities where worsening the disease resulting in hospitalisation and high doses of medication.

However, since starting yoga I no longer have the need to find love in others or escape in a bottle of wine, I have discovered that all the love is right here inside and it was here all along I just couldn’t find it. Along the path of yoga I have learnt that the body and mind system is just energy and through the different yoga practices you can change that energy.
So if you’re feeling tense or sad, that can be changed, there is no need to stay that way and it is the same with ill health, you do not need to stay ill. All you have to do is go to a yoga class and allow yourself to be open to the journey that follows and if you try it and persevere with it, not just give up and say ‘I can’t be bothered’ then it will change your life and you will come to realise that suffering just isn’t necessary.
